The prime objective of POINTER is to identify and enhance awareness of the technological and organisational infrastructures required to achieve these overall aims.

The project model chosen entails the close co-operation of a high proportion of the major actors in the field of terminology in Europe: thus the project fulfils, by its very existence, one aspect of the infrastructure which it is preparing.
