BJL Consult s.a./n.v. is a Belgian consultancy and services company specialising in information management, electronic data processing and management.

Created in 1987, BJL Consult is a member of BJL Group (created in 1982, 80 millions BEF (2.000 KECU) annual added value, 20 permanent staff).

BJL Consult is developing its activities in three complementary directions:

consultancy in electronic data processing and management,
documentation engineering,
software development.

BJL Consult has progressively enlarged its expertise from consulting in electronic data processing to strategic management.
Beyond its specialisation in the assessment of companies' potential in the information technology sector, BJL Consult performs financial audits and has carried through innovative electronic data processing projects.

The growth of this specific activity is based on a very specialised expertise in the field of documentary languages, especially in the creation and/or maintenance of multilingual thesauri of descriptors, and includes coordination of projects at a European level.
In documentation and textual information management, BJL Consult offers a wide range of services, from methodological support to implementation of tailor-made software applications, the development of which can be undertaken by the BJL Consult programming team.

BJL Consult is active in software development

In the fields of databases, textual information management, etc., BJL Consult is able to prove the feasibility of the solutions it is recommending by creating operational prototypes and tailor-made applications.
BJL Consult was at the origin of the introduction in Europe of the database management system Seconde; this system and others, such as Access, Foxpro and Paradox, are used as development tools.

BJL Consult is the Project Coordinator of POINTER

As Project Coordinator BJL Consult is involved in all workpackages at a coordination level, with responsibilities for content work in Workpackages 1 ("Terms of Reference"), 4 ("Analysis - National and regional levels") and 7 ("Synthesis, evaluation and proposals").
It coordinates Management Committee members and Associate Partners from Greece and Italy.
Head of project in BJL is Corentin ROULIN, Director, assisted by Patrick VAN DEVEN, Projects Manager and Cheryl COOPER, Consultant.
