Aim

To develop a Grid-based demonstrator for sharing and analysing real-time financial data streams, time series of financial returns and financial news.

Objectives

• Create a Grid environment based on Open Source Grid Middleware.
• Provide a demonstrable software application, on the Grid, for analysing financial information in the form of quantitative data (time series) and qualitative data (financial/political news)
• Evaluate the benefits of the Grid approach

Source and duration

FINGRID is a 12 month project that began on 1 October 2003 and is sponsored by the ESRC under their Pilot Projects in e-Social Science call (e-Science).
