Solutions for 2007 have been made available on the Exams page.
I am sorry that this week's lecture had to be cancelled due to illness. This means that the last lecture (Software Security) will be given next week (25 November). The portfolio assignment will be given after the lecture, as planned.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to run a normal class discussion on the Software Security exercise.
The second question of the weekly exercise sheet for Week 7 is extremely difficult. It is worth thinking about it, and also to read a certain paper by Dr. David F.C. Brewer and Dr. Michael J. Nash. The paper shows how the Chinese Wall can partially be expressed in terms of BLP. Doing it the other way around is going to be harder.
I have published solutions for Weeks 1-4. See under Week 4 in the programme.
I was asked for a book recommendation with more technical and practical contents, to help link the taught concepts to real world applications. Ross Andersons book may be worth reading. First edition is freely available on-line; for the second edition only selected sample chapters are available for free. I have not read it myself, but it has received good reviews.
Sample student papers and feedback for Week 1 have been published. See «Sample Exercises» on the right.
