The sessions will be combined lectures and discussion of exercises. Exercise sheets will be given out every week, to be solved (or at least attempted) before the next lecture.
It is important that you do the exercises every week and bring your solutions to class for discussion. This is especially important if you find the exercises difficult and you only manage partial solutions. When that happens we will discuss the difficulties.

Copies of the slides will be available on programme page. You may print them if you want to; they will not be printed for you.
It is important that you do exercises continuously through-out the semester. At the end of the term you will have to hand in a portfolio based on these exercises, worth 40% of the module mark.
The portfolio will have to include three of the weekly exercises; one is your choice, but the other two will be nominated by me after the last session. Furthermore, the portfolio should include a concluding essay (one page) summarising your learning.
